Why Ampersand - Collaborative strength?
When the stable devolved from the control of our service company, Faculty Services Limited, the opportunity arose for us to consider whether to follow the previous practice of naming the stable after the head clerk. On Alan's appointment as head clerk and on his initiative we decided to adopt a more modern approach.
We chose the Ampersand brand to reflect the principles we believe in. We will work in collaboration with those that instruct us to ensure collective strength. Our members will add value to the legal team. Our clerking team will provide the best service.

Why have you not restricted the areas of practice your stable offers?
We have chosen not to adopt a restrictive approach because our strength is in the breadth of areas and depth of expertise we offer. Our members are specialists within their chosen fields. Whether you are approaching Ampersand for the first time or have an established relationship with us you will find an advocate with the appropriate expertise to handle your case.

Are your members selected on merit?
Yes. Only by Ampersand having high standards on quality advice, advocacy and clerking can you be sure that the service you are provided with is assured.

Do your members work with advocates in other stables?
Yes. Our members and clerks will liaise with members and clerks of any other stable or chambers to ensure you receive the best quality of service.

Are your clerks on bonuses?
No. Our clerks do not receive bonuses to retain work within the stable. We believe that to do so would compromise their integrity to offer impartial advice.
