Geoffrey Mitchell has over 15 years of advocacy experience. As an Advocate Depute, he prosecuted in High Court criminal trials, and is consequently well used to the examination and cross examination of witnesses. Such experience is of great benefit in civil proofs and Fatal Accident Inquiries, in both of which he is regularly instructed.

• Formal Investigation of FV Trident - For relatives of deceased into the sinking of the Fishing Vessel Trident under the Merchant Shipping Act 1995
• Fallone v. Lanarkshire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (2006) - for the Trust. Alleged failure to treat cancer.
• Watson v. Lanarkshire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (2007) - for the Trust. Stillborn child.
• Hassanna Moughrabi Fatal Accident Inquiry (2007) - for a Health Board. Congenital hydrocephalus.
